Pioneered by Future Fibres since 2004, Torquelite cables are flexible furling cables made from synthetic core fibers with unique torsional properties, offering lightweight furling solutions for yachts of all sizes.
Technology
Torquelite cables are manufactured using a continuous winding process with synthetic unidirectional fibers, including Aramid, SK99, and PBO, wound around two spools and engineered to a specific length, stiffness, and torque requirements. These cables can be designed for either bottom-up or top-down furling systems, with a custom designed torque jacket based on the specifications of the sail and furling unit.
Each cable is custom engineered with the minimum fiber content and torque jacket requirements to achieve a specific stiffness, strength and torque properties resulting in zero extra weight.
Torquelite cables are manufactured with tightly packed synthetic fibers consolidated into a round cross-section and wrapped in a custom-engineered braided cover. This design maintains a minimal outer diameter while providing optimal torque stiffness.
Torquelite stays can be coiled, enabling full fabrication in the factory and efficient delivery of the finished product to customers worldwide. This ensures greater quality control, precision, and faster installation
Torquelite cables have a fixed lifespan and should be fully replaced after a designated period. The recommended lifespan varies depending on the specific application.
Applications
Torquelite cables are suitable for yachts of all sizes that require flexible furling stays.
