Future Fibres

Skorpios

About the Project

The first ClubSwan 125 announced itself on the offshore racing scene by winning line honours in the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race, just weeks after it was launched. The largest monohull to ever enter the Fastnet, Skorpios is considered by many to be the fastest offshore monohull in the world. With its hull, superstructure and decks constructed from prepreg carbon fibre with Nomex and Corecell cores, and an innovative rotating C-foil providing vertical lift and reducing its displacement, Skorpios was designed for setting transoceanic records.

Future Fibres provided AEROsix laterals, with a hybrid construction which fuses the reliability of multistrand rigging with the performance of solid carbon. This delivers minimum vibration under tension, which, in turn, means extreme aerodynamic efficiency. These were complemented by ECsix forestay and backstay, which provide unmatched reliability for the toughest offshore conditions. Skorpios is also fitted with a high-performance Southern Spars mast and integrated Synapse load monitoring technology.
