At Future Fibres, we take pride in our role as the one-design rigging supplier for both the AC75s in the 37th America’s Cup, and the AC40s set for the first ever Women’s and Youth America’s Cups.
Typifying high-performance and reliability, our track record of delivering innovative solutions makes us the go-to partner for the world’s premier one design fleets – from the new generation of IMOCA 60 flying toward the Vendee Globe this Autumn, to the adrenaline-fuelled action of SailGP.
When it comes to the pinnacle of inshore competition – the America’s Cup – Future Fibres is the obvious choice, restlessly innovating to produce state-of-the-art rigging that lives up to the Cup and empowers its sailors to reach mind-blowing performance frontiers.
AC75:
Each AC75 is fitted with AEROrazr laterals and ECsix forestays, both optimised for each application.
ECsix
The world’s most popular composite rigging, ECsix provides high-performance, paired with unparalleled strength and resilient, crucial for the rigours of an America’s Cup campaign. ECsix’s patented multistrand construction makes it the most reliable composite rigging on the market. Composed of bundles of pultruded carbon rods, it is extremely resistant to fractures from bending, compression, and impact.
AEROrazr
Pushing the AC75s to the limits of high-performance is AEROrazr. Originally developed through close collaboration with the teams ahead of the 36th America’s Cup, which saw speeds surge up to 50+ knots, AEROrazr evolved from our established RAZR solid rigging technology, used in the likes of the 52 Super Series. The product of extensive research and development into aerodynamics, AEROrazr introduced an aerofoil shape to what was already the lightest, lowest diameter solid rigging product on the market, drastically reducing drag and enhancing it even further.
AC40:
The AC40s are equipped with a compete set of ECthree multistrand cables. Introduced after the widespread adoption of ECsix, ECthree is our flagship rigging product for yachts in the 30-65ft range. Its multistrand construction, coupled with standard modulus carbon fibre and stainless-steel end fittings, provide a lightweight solution with the utmost reliability—blasting the America’s Cup into a new era, with the advent of Women’s and Youth competitions. We look forward to another Future Fibres-rigged one design fleet lighting up the international circuit for years to come.
Since entering the America’s Cup fold in 2007, Future Fibres has played its part as a prominent supplier. Now, providing one design rigging for two incredible fleets of foiling machines, Future Fibres is unquestionably the choice of sailors and innovators at the top level.
The confidence that teams place in our technology is a reflection of an unmatched track record of reliability and high-performance. Through our continued dedication to research and development, we work alongside a range of visionary innovators, with a shared mission of driving sailing to awe-inspiring levels of technological prowess—constantly redefining what a yacht can achieve.
It has been a pleasure to see technologies from across our group of companies integrated to great effect for the 37th America’s Cup.
