Future Fibres Technologies

AEROsix is manufactured with a monolithic carbon fibre plate surrounded by bundles of multistrand carbon rods inside a textile cover. Each cable is customized for length and stiffness with titanium end fittings, providing the most aerodynamic, high-performance, and durable carbon fibre rigging available on the market.

Weight

Each composite cable is designed with the minimum fibre content required to achieve a specific stiffness and strength at the end terminals resulting in zero extra weight.

AEROsix is manufactured with the plate and the individual carbon fibre rods tightly packed into a 2.7:1 elliptical section providing the smallest frontal area for improved aerodynamics.

Reliability

AEROsix has multiple layers of safety. The peripherical bundles of pultruded carbon fibre rods outside the monolithic plate provides good flexibility, allowing it to resist fractures from bending, compression, and impact. Since the rods can move independently, they easily adapt to bending and absorb energy during impacts. This design means that if some rods are damaged, it won’t affect the others in the stay. AEROsix can endure up to 25% damage and still get you home safely for repairs.

Vibration

The hybrid construction featuring the monolithic plate and carbon fibre rods inside the braided cover naturally dampen vibrations. AEROsix has a very low tendency to vibrate, reducing drag and improving overall comfort.

Logistics

AEROsix rigging can be coiled, enabling full fabrication in the factory and efficient delivery of the finished product to customers worldwide. This ensures greater quality control, precision, and faster installation.

Service

AEROsix can be fully inspected by removing the braid cover to access the individual fibres and end fittings. With Future Fibres’ TexTen braid cover technology, a visual inspection is only needed in the first 5 years during the yacht’s mast service at the yacht’s location. After 10 years, the rigging can be coiled and sent to Future Fibres for a full-service inspection, after which it will be returned to the customer for another 10-year cycle.
