Future Fibres

Art Explorer

About the Project

Launched by Perini Navi in 2023, the 46-metre ‘Art Explorer’ is a marvel of modern naval architecture. The largest private sailing catamaran ever built, it doubles as the world’s first floating art gallery, offering a unique blend of luxury sailing and cultural enrichment.

Its ECsix rigging from Future Fibres ensures both reliability and durability, crucial for a vessel destined to traverse the globe with precious artworks onboard.

In the interests of comfort, longevity, and performance, Art Explorer’s rigging needed to deliver low vibration, and ECsix’s multistrand construction (comprised of bundles of multistrand rods) was the obvious choice to ensure this – providing much lower vibration when compared to rod rigging.

The interior, a collaboration with the Louvre Museum, transforms the yacht into an immersive art experience, featuring a 16-metre LED tunnel for exhibitions and spaces for artist residencies. Its mission is to make art accessible to a wider audience, hosting up to 2000 visitors daily across the world’s ports.

Eco-friendly features such as solar panels and lithium batteries underscore the yacht’s commitment to sustainability, while state-of-the-art rigging from Future Fibres guarantees performance without compromise.
