Hugo Boss had a troubled 2008, after she was demasted by a fishing vessel just three weeks before the start of the Vendée Globe. A huge effort from all involved enabled Alex Thomson's Open 60 to get to the start line on time, not least from Future Fibres who were able to build and fit an entire new set of PBO rigging in just ten days.

Giles Waterhouse, Hugo Boss' rigger, commented on the operation to get the boat back in action: "Future Fibres have been amazing. The moment they heard about the accident they got in touch with us and told us they'd do whatever it takes to get Hugo Boss to the start line of the Vendée."
