ABN Amro One, winner of the 2005-2006 Volvo Ocean Race, lifted the 'Fighting Finish' trophy after sailing into Gothenburg, Sweden, comfortably finishing the race after gaining an unsurpassable lead in the seventh leg. It was an emphatic victory for Mike Sanderson and his team, winning six out of the nine offshore legs, plus five out of seven inshore races.
Mike commented: "The boats are immensely powerful, and all the equipment is put to the ultimate test. The Future Fibres PBO rigging saw punishment in the extreme, and proved itself to be a durable and reliable solution while still offering the grand prix performance the Volvo Ocean Race demands".
