furling forestays

Converting from a rod furling forestay requires a system that links the furling unit to the Future Fibres cable. In association with furling unit manufacturers, Future Fibres has designed a simple, easy to install conversion from a rod system.

Bearings attach along the length of the forestay to centralise the stay in the foil and to minimise friction. The flexible end of the stay has a removable fitting enabling it to be passed through the carbon foil and then reassembled and terminated into the furling unit.

When furling the headsail, the foil rotates around the forestay and bearings, ensuring that there is no damage to the outer cover of the PBO stay.
