| Future Fibres continues to lead the market with new superyacht wins |

|
Future Fibres this week cemented its position as superyacht market leader, with another set of high profile wins, as clients continue to choose the PBO specialists for the largest projects around the world.
Due to be launched in early 2010, the 57.5 metre Twizzle represents a significant and exciting new project for all involved. Twizzle will be Royal Huisman’s first sailing yacht with a flybridge, and the first time the Dutch builders have collaborated with naval architect Ed Dubois, complimented by contemporary styling from Redman Whiteley Dixon. With the brief for the fast cruising ketch calling for motor yacht conveniences with superyacht performance, the design team chose to utilise advanced lightweight composites wherever possible including masts, deck hatches and a full set of PBO standing rigging.
Due to be launched in early 2010, the 57.5 metre Twizzle represents a significant and exciting new project for all involved. Twizzle will be Royal Huisman’s first sailing yacht with a flybridge, and the first time the Dutch builders have collaborated with Ed Dubois, whose naval architecture has been complemented by contemporary styling from Hampshire based Redman Whiteley Dixon. With the brief for the fast cruising ketch calling for motor yacht conveniences with superyacht performance, the design team chose to utilize advanced lightweight composites wherever possible including masts, deck hatches and a full set of PBO standing rigging.
Future Fibres started working with the Twizzle project team at METS 2006, predicting a saving of over four tonnes with their PBO composite solution. This is one of the industry’s largest composite rigging orders to date, with a forestay measuring over 60 metres. The Future Fibres team won the contract against keen competition from Southern Spars EC6 carbon. The PBO solution was reinforced by Future Fibres’ total product and service package, along with its proven track record, ultimately making it a clear choice for the client.
Salperton IV, to be built for serial superyacht owner Barry Houghton, will be an impressive 44 metre fast cruising sloop and is expected to be launched in 2009. Currently under construction at Fitzroy Yachts, the aluminium construction promises to be another distinctively luxurious yacht from the New Zealand team. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, Salperton IV shows the clear progression of PBO; having opted for Nitronic 50 rod on Salperton II, PBO diagonals on Salperton III and now a full set of Future Fibres composite PBO on IV.
Set to be another very interesting project, the Dubois 44m Lady B is to be amongst the highest performance yachts of her type. Designed for fast cruising, with a lifting keel and draft ranging from four to six metres, she is anticipated to have impressive speed. Being built at Vitter’s Shipyard, she will be fully equipped to the highest standard and definitely one to watch when she’s completed in early 2009.
The coming months are also set to see a number of key new launches for Future Fibres. The Tripp designed 45m Saudade, due to be launched in April, will be the biggest Wally to date, with a sail area of over 9000sq.ft. In May, the 38m Perini/Briand P2 will be completed, marking a great moment for Future Fibres as the first Perini to ever use a full set of composite rigging. Late spring/summer will also see the launch of Boreas, a 54m Hoek designed classic-lined sloop based on the award winner Adele. The 100ft all carbon Chrisco, being built at CNB’s yard in Bordeaux, will be launched in June as will Future Fibres’ third Southern Wind 100 project – this time being built for the owner of the yard himself.
Future Fibres’ superyacht tally is growing rapidly, with these three new orders bringing the total to 25. The company, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, has established a reputation beyond its years, based on proven performance, unfaltering quality and outstanding service. Its new ‘Future Superyacht Service Programme’, launching this month, is set to transform the way superyacht owners think about rig maintenance. With dedicated teams working to ensure the highest quality of superyacht service is delivered when and wherever the client requires, the programme is another big step ahead of the competition.
