| Future Fibres wins at World Superyacht Awards |

Future Fibres has won the Technology Award at the prestigious Boat International World Superyacht Awards held in Venice on Friday 27 April.
Future Fibres beat stiff competition within the short-list of the Technology Award category, including the design team behind Maltese Falcon’s revolutionary DynaRig. The judging criterion was that it should be awarded 'to the most significant new technology that has the potential to achieve a wide impact and acceptance on superyachts.'
Chairman of the judges of the World Superyacht Awards, and editor of the annual publication ‘The Superyachts’, Roger Lean-Vercoe, commented that, based on the award criteria, the judges almost unanimously chose Future Fibres. In fact, one of the superyacht owners on the panel was so impressed with Future Fibres’ presentation that he changed the specification of his new yacht to include their PBO standing rigging.
Superyacht owners Michael & Bettina Bradfield, Jan-Erik Österlund, Kim Vibe Petersen, Lord Laidlaw of Rothiemay, Sophie Pigozzi and Tom Perkins were amongst the judges making the World Superyacht Awards the most respected in the world. The WSA dinner took place in the 16th Century cloisters of the fantastic Fondazione Giorgio Cini – a former Benedictine monastery – and the event is considered to be the ‘Oscars’ of the superyacht industry.
CEO Tom Hutchinson and the team at Future Fibres are proud to have been recognised by such a distinguished panel of judges. Hutchinson says “It is always great to receive an award, we were up against some fantastic competition for this one, so we are thrilled to have won. I think it goes to show the confidence people have in our product, and this is being reflected in our order book”
Top superyacht designers and project managers are already familiar with PBO rigging and a number have been to visit Future Fibres’ facility in Valencia, including Ed Dubois and Malcolm McKeon of Dubois Naval Architects who flew there the day after the awards.
