Outer Forestay
Back in 2003, Future Fibres installed the first ever composite Super Yacht forestay. It was fitted to a Southern Spars mast on the Dubois designed Destination Fox Harb’r – a 134’ fast cruising sloop.
This -170 stretch equivalent cable was over 180kg lighter than the equivalent Nitronic 50 rod – a performance gain of this magnitude was irresistible.
During a recent scheduled rig service, the Future Fibres appointed service agent, Dave White, removed the cable for inspection and found it to be in perfect condition. The yacht has now sailed over 30,000 nautical miles, underlining the longevity of Future Fibres Super Yacht Rigging.
