Future Fibres´ founder, Tom Hutchinson, pioneered the development of continuously wound unidirectional fibre cables in 1996/97.

The process involves taking a single thread of fibre and winding it around two end terminations fixed at the required distance apart (the cable length), until the correct fibre content is achieved. This creates a simple fibre loop which is inherently safe and strong.
