Future Fibres first entered the composite rigging market almost two decades ago, after the company's founder, Tom Hutchinson, decided there was a better way to terminate composite fibres and devised a way to continuously wind PBO fibre around two titanium thimbles at any required length. At that time aramid fibres were only considered suitable for aft rigging, as the then dominant fibre (Kevlar) had stretch characteristics that made it unsuitable for standing rigging.
Future Fibres' inherently safe and simple construction methods have revolutionised the rigging industry, allowing composite rigging to be used on every area of the boat. Today the company continues to lead the market, as the world's largest composite rigging manufacturer, with more experience and sea miles than the rest of the competition put together.
